iPhone 12 2020: All the last rumours on Apple's upcoming smartphone


The camera array is certainly eye-catching The iPhone 12 is set to make its debut this year, and it looks set to be a huge update with a focus on 5G and possibly a new design. Here are the early leaks, rumours and all we know so far.
Apple has just launched a new budget phone, the iPhone SE 2 , and we’ve been thoroughly impressed by it. However, most of the attention is still fixed squarely upon the brand’s next flagship. As usual, the rumours swirling about the iPhone 12 are already whipping up a frenzy, and we’ve rounded up all we know so far. Early indications say we should get a new design, 5G network support and maybe even a smaller notch.

What is it? The follow-up to 2019’s iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max

When’s it out? Probably September 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic might cause delays in when it’ll actually

What will it cost? We’d expect the price to be in line with current models, so upwards of £700 – although this could rise yet higher due to recent increases in manufacturing costs .

Will iPhone 12 have 5G connectivity? Almost certainly, but we’re not sure whether this will apply to all of the new models.

What will the iPhone 12 look like? We could see a design more akin to the angular iPhone 5, rather than the softer curves of the iPhone 11

iPhone 12 release date – When will it come out?
There have been no official details around the iPhone 12 release date; however, we’ve heard plenty of rumours about when it might arrive. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many are suggesting that even if the phone does get the traditional September unveiling, it might actually arrive on shelves a little later . Or we could see a split release, with the higher end phone arriving slightly later. Previously, we saw this with the release of the iPhone X.
The WSJ report claims that production has been pushed back a month, so there’s always the chance we could still see a September release.

The latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system (presumably called iOS 14 this time around) also traditionally makes its entrance around the same time of year and will, without doubt, be pre-loaded on all the new models as standard. iOS typically gets its big unveiling at WWDC in June, followed by an array of public and developer-only betas in the run-up to the big launch event.
