This year sees the release of the iPhone 12, which is tipped to feature some fairly drastic developments from previous models.

We take a look at everything we know so far about Apple’s upcoming release.

When will the iPhone 12 be released?

If Apple manage to follow the original release schedule, the new iPhone could be unveiled in September.

However, a date has yet to be confirmed and it is possible the release could be pushed back as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Apple has yet to confirm either way.

How much could the iPhone 12 cost?

Tech industry analysts believe the new phone will be more expensive than the current iPhone 11 despite not bundling a charging adaptor or headphones in with it.

Jeff Pu, an analyst at Yuanta Investment Consulting, explained in a research note that the next iPhone will start at $749 (£593).

For context, the iPhone 11 launched with prices starting at $699 (£553.60).

Pu’s analysis comes from the fact Apple will start including 5G technology in the phone for the first time, according to MacRumours .

If this is the case, it’s likely the price increase would apply to these models too.

It was previously rumoured that Apple will produce four versions this year : the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Screen sizes are predicted to be 5.4-inches, 6.1-inches, 6.1-inches and 6.7-inches respectively.
