Suck out the moisture, not the fun, with these dehydrators

Dehydrators are an excellent way of storing perishable food in a way that saves the nutrients and creates a unique flavor to the food you dehydrate. Whether you are looking to dry, fruits, vegetables, or even meat, we have spent the time to find you the perfect dehydrators for your needs.

Best Overall

NESCO Snackmaster Pro Food Dehydrator

Staff Pick

The perfect balance between cost and efficiency, the Nesco dehydrator uses forced air to even dry your food without mixing up the flavors. I like the way the Nesco can be expanded on too. By buying extra drying rings, you can extend the Nesco to have ten trays instead of five. It's a real bargain.

The industrial look

COSORI Premium Food Dehydrator

If you are looking for a more industrial style to your dehydrator, the Cosori Premium is likely the right choice. It has a brushed stainless steel exterior, which looks a lot like any number of kitchen appliances you probably already own. The Cosori works brilliantly on any food from tough meats, to delicate herbs, and is incredibly quiet when it is running. It isn't expandible though, so five trays are all you get.

The cheapest option

Presto Food Dehydrator

Sometimes the best device is the one you can afford. Happily, the Presto dehydrator is not only cheap, but simple to use and it can be expanded to have eight trays of goodies in it. The one downside to this is there is no power switch or timer. It will keep running for as long as there is power going to it. It will be up to you to time it.

Going through a dry spell

We use our dehydrator mainly for fruits. Dried apricots and apple snaps are a delicious and healthy snack for our kids and us, and we enjoy the process that goes into making them. We chose the NESCO Snackmaster Pro Food Dehydrator because it was in our price range and offered an expandible option if we became dehydrating fans, which we did! We now have eight drying plates in ours, but we may go for more at some point.
