My Brilliant Friend is an Italian/Neapolitan coming of age drama TV series. Saverio Costanzo developed this show, which made its debut on November 18, 2018, on HBO. The show is an adaptation of the Neapolitan novel series by Elena Ferrante. The second season of the series ran from March 16 to May 4, 2020, and left the fans craving for more.

There is a piece of good news for the fans. HBO renewed the show for its third season back on April 30, 2020. It was quite easy for the creators to renew My Brilliant Friend Season 3 because it would be a huge disappointment if they didn’t renew it. The executive of HBO, Francesca Orsi, described her happiness in her recent interview. She said, “The reality that viewers and critics alike have advanced to welcome Elena and Lila’s story makes it all the more pleasing. And we thank the whole team managed by Saverio Costanzo for their excellent work on the second season. We cannot wait to tell the following chapter of Elena and Lila ‘s lives and friendship.”

What Might Happen In The Third Season?

My Brilliant Friend Season 3 will follow the third novel of the series. The title of this book is “Those Who Stay And Those Who Leave.” As it is a coming of age drama, therefore in the third season, our favorite teenagers will become full-grown adults. It will explore their friendship in the later stages of their life. Lila already got married at the age of sixteen and will have a growing son in the upcoming season. Her husband is brutal, so she will leave her and will start working as a common person.

Elena has left the neighborhood, received her university degree, and issued a successful novel, all of which have unlocked the doors to a life of sound speakers and extravagant decorated salons. Both women have forced upon the walls of a jail that would have signed them living a life of pain, darkness, and slavery. They are sailing on the vast sea of opportunities that opened up during the 1970s. The third season will eventually test the bond between Lila and Elena several times.
