Verifying SoC BootROM Using Standard Verification Techniques

BootROM code is omnipresent in modern System-on-Chip (SoC) ASICs . While verification strategies for RTL are well established and widely practiced, ROM verification methodologies are less well-developed and not widely standardized. Some EDA vendors address ROM software verification by offering highly-integrated hardware/software co-simulation platforms at added costs. By applying standard RTL verification practices to BootROM, Intrinsix has developed a methodology that relies only on standard RTL verification tool chains.
