Carrier-current-am-receiver
The AM Tuned Radio Frequency (TRF) receiver has a sensitivity of approximately 1 mV at the input for an audio output of 1/2 W. Capacitor C22 couples audio signals from the power line to the PC board and must be...
8W + 8W tube amplifier circuit
The VE1 preamplifier utilizes a low muscle, low resistance double triode 6N6 configuration, with separate halves for the left and right audio channels. The design operates within the CPI framework. It promotes the use of high-level VE2 household low resistance...
Vacuum Tube Synthesizers
Recently, a music synthesizer has been constructed using vacuum tubes. Although designed primarily as a percussion synthesizer, it can also be controlled via a keyboard or a MIDI to CV converter. The initial module developed is a dual voltage-controlled oscillator...
Cornet2 Vacuum Tube Moving Magnet Phonostage
This phono stage significantly outperformed a sub-mini phono preamp. The phono preamp was exceptionally quiet when paired with a vintage Grado 8MR cartridge (not MC). It does not have a vintage sound; while it is pleasant and clearly tube-based, it...
Amp Power Supply More Info
Vacuum tube electronic circuits operate from relatively high DC voltages (150 to 600 volts). The Electric Utility supplies 120 volts AC. Transformers can step up the 120 volts AC line voltage to the necessary range, but it remains AC. Internal...
Simple Coil-less AM receiver
This AM receiver is working perfectly without the need of coils or even a variable capacitor. The LF356 is the basic component. P1 and P2 are the frequency selectors. Use a small telescopic antenna. The stations selectivity is not perfect...
AM Receiver
This is a compact three transistor, regenerative receiver with fixed feedback. It is similar in principle to the ZN414 radio IC which is now replaced by the MK484. The design is simple and sensitivity and selectivity of the receiver are...
Spunky Tube Amplifier
The diagram below illustrates that power supplies need not be complex, particularly in low-power applications. The filaments are powered directly from the 120-volt AC line, minimizing the size of the transformer(s) required to drive the amplifier. Note the slightly unusual...
Tube amplifier input voltage input
The input impedance can be classified into high-impedance and low-impedance inputs based on the requirements of various audio equipment and the load impedance. High-impedance input mode is typically utilized in general audio devices such as CD players, VCD players, DVD...
