The BBY62 is a high-performance variable capacitance diode (varactor) designed for applications requiring excellent linearity and compact packaging. This component is optimized for use in tuning circuits, voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), and frequency modulation applications. Its small plastic SMD package makes it suitable for modern, space-constrained PCB designs while maintaining reliable performance.
The BBY62 is ideal for a variety of RF and analog circuit applications, including:
The BBY62 is housed in a small plastic SMD package with the following dimensions:
For optimal performance, the following PCB land pattern is recommended:
The device is marked with a unique identifier on the top surface for traceability:
The capacitance decreases non-linearly with increasing reverse voltage, following the varactor diode's inherent characteristics. At VR = 1 V, the capacitance is approximately 15.8 pF, reducing to 1.9 pF at VR = 28 V.
The Q-factor remains high (>100) at frequencies up to 50 MHz, making the BBY62 suitable for HF and VHF applications. Above this frequency, the Q-factor gradually decreases due to increasing series resistance effects.
The BBY62 is available in tape-and-reel packaging for automated assembly:
