The HCC4099B (extended temperature range) and HCF4099B (intermediate temperature range) are monolithic integrated circuits belonging to the "B" series of CMOS devices. These 8-bit addressable latches are designed for general-purpose digital logic applications, offering high noise immunity and low power consumption typical of CMOS technology. The devices are available in 16-lead dual in-line plastic or ceramic packages, as well as plastic micro packages, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
The HCC/HCF4099B finds use in various digital systems including:
(VDD = 5V, TA = 25°C unless otherwise specified)
(VDD = 5V, TA = 25°C unless otherwise specified)
The HCC/HCF4099B is an 8-bit addressable latch featuring three-state outputs. The device operates as a memory element that can store data on any one of its eight bits, selected by a 3-bit address code (A0, A1, A2). The stored data appears on the output when the output enable (OE) is active low. When OE is high, the outputs are in a high-impedance state, making the device suitable for bus-oriented systems.
The write enable (WE) input controls the latching function. When WE is low, the addressed bit follows the data input (D). When WE transitions from low to high, the data present at D is latched into the addressed bit. All unaddressed bits maintain their previous states regardless of the D input.
