A Suitable Boy Episode 4 Review:

A Suitable Boy episode 4 is highlights friendships and love.

Pran, his mother and Savita are reunited with Bhaskar, thanks to an unlikely hero. Pran’s family meeting him probably paves the way for him entering their lives and maybe this will play a role later on. On the other hand, Lata has changed after her terrible encounter, and is haunted by it. However, Haresh acts as a sort of respite in these trying times. He’s funny, smart and headstrong and doesn’t bow down to unfair practices. So, when he resigns from his job, Lata promises to support him in his decision.

Haresh has become a very positive character in A Suitable Boy episode 4. I like him, he seems dependable and is quite funny. However, shows have a way of turning great characters on their heads, so we still have to see his arc. But till now, he’s probably one of the best suitors for Lata. Lata’s other suitors too try to woo her. Kuku tries to remind Amit to make an effort and hold on to his place in her heart, while Kabir finally musters up enough courage to have a talk with Lata. However, her answers prove that she has grown up.

Unable to stay away from each other, Maan and Saeeda finally meet after one long week. Their meeting is sweet, and, as expected, full of passion. Maan’s stay at the village has changed him somewhat, and he understands the perils that are present in the country. So, when a (premeditated) riot breaks out, he is quick to save Firoz. The scene highlights all that is wrong in our country and it rings true in the current political scenario as well. A Suitable Boy episode 4 also highlights the government’s lethargy in tackling the situation and instead fanning the flame, as well as corruption.

I think we see a great deal of good friendships in this episode – be it Malti and Lata or Firoz and Maan. Both of these characters are always present for their friends through their tough times. I liked how when Lata tells Malti that she doesn’t want to talk about the traumatic incident, she gives her the space that she needs instead of hounding her. It’s something that is not seen a lot in television and is a welcome change. On the other hand, Firoz, always the voice of reason in Maan’s life, helps out his friends, no questions asked.

In the sneak peek for the next episode we see that Lata probably has to come up with a decision regarding her suitors. Maan gears up to go back to the village, while Hindu-Muslim tensions are rife. And an uncomfortable meeting is afoot.
